Professional Experience:
Healthy Teaching Kitchen: I am honored to be the national Healthy Teaching Kitchen Co-Chair. For this position I work with a team to create stimulating presentations, meet fiscal year goals for data collection, and aid facilities in the implementation or sustainment of their Healthy Teaching Kitchen. Last year as part of the position I was asked to present in an interactive studio, with 3 other dietitians, on how to create a Healthy Teaching Kitchen.
Dietetic Internship Experience:
For my management rotation I returned to the Nutrition and Food Services department at the Portland Veteran's Medical Center. During this rotation I had the oppotunity to fully immerse myself in all aspects of management such as: fiscal, hiring, and project management. It was a great experience to get to see the implementation of my rotation project for the foodservice rotation from a managament point of view. The following are pictures of the Inpatient Veteran Snack Program Poster project as well as the TAMMCS that were necessary to monitor and evaluate the success of the snack program. For this project we placed third out of all PVAMC projects!
